We are raising funds to help support Khalil T. Zeyara and his family who are surviving the horrors of a genocide in the Gaza Strip. After over 8 months of fundraising, Khalil’s last GoFundMe was shut down and unfortunately, his funds are frozen so we have moved our efforts to Chuffed.

Khalil is an athlete with the Palestinian national karate team. He went to the University College of Applied Sciences in Gaza for accounting. Before October 2023, Khalil owned his own grocery store, his brother Tamer was working on opening his own car repair shop, and his two sisters were dedicated students. Khalil loves his family, especially his parents, both of whom he calls his inspiration.

Like many families in Gaza, Khalil’s family has been displaced over a dozen times, losing their belongings and tent in the process. They have experienced near-death numerous times, have lost their home, and have had to mourn the deaths of many loved ones and community members.

We are trying to raise $30,0000 for medical supplies, food, clothing, rent and savings for a potential evacuation fund for his family members if the border into Egypt reopens.

Gaza has become the hungriest place on Earth, and that is not hyperbole. Every 72 hours, a Palestinian family has only had one small meal. Our friends are among that number, and with some merchants charging unreasonable prices for basics like flour and tomatoes, and the so-called humanitarian distribution points turning into a literal death trap, Khalil’s family has been struggling to access food. Please keep sharing and donating. We all appreciate your support and solidarity.

Our friend and his family made the journey back north into Gaza City, and they found the bones of their home.

Khalil knew their home was gone — he saw a video of the entire block being destroyed and then demolished, part of the military’s own war crime admissions via TikTok — but it still hurt beyond anything he could describe.

In some images, you will see Khalil’s karate and jiu-jistu belts and a photo of his mother they were able to salvage in the rubble.
